Gratitude Abounds at Laurel Mountain Elementary

Laurel Mountain is a school for talent development, joyful learning, and creative innovation where everyone teaches, learns, contributes, and makes decisions.

On Friday, November 10th, our students, and staff contributed to a special event to show our gratitude to all veterans and active service members of the United States armed forces.

All week, we spotlighted a different branch of the military on KPAW, our daily news broadcast: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard.  Students learned and then wrote about what each branch does and the equipment they use.

At the assembly, students contributed their talents of singing, poetry, playing guitar, and public speaking to let our Veterans know that we grateful for their service to our country.  We showed pictures of school faculty who are veterans and family members of students who are veterans or are on active duty right now.

This past Thanksgiving and every day, we remember to show our gratitude for those who serve our country.
