Partnerships to Ensure School Readiness for ALL Students
RROCK Ready is taking a break during these unprecedented times.
RROCK Ready is “pausing” this fall semester. 0ur focus will be on supporting our district, campuses, students and their families as they navigate these unprecedented times. But don’t worry….we will be back soon!! Please stay tuned for spring activities to be announced later in the fall semester. We appreciate your partnership and wish everyone well.
What is RROCK Ready?
RROCK Ready is a community partnership fostering early literacy development prior to students entering school. As Bill Gates once said, “The first five years have so much to do with how the next 80 years turn out”. Research proves the first five years are critical to a child’s development. RROCK Ready aims to partner with community members and childcare providers who interact with children during these critical learning years to ensure all students enter school ready to learn.
Comprised of stakeholders from across the district, members of the RROCK Ready committee developed a partnership model. Through this partnership, childcare providers (licensed child care facilities and registered in-home daycares) will receive specialized professional development opportunities in the areas of early literacy, early numeracy, social emotional learning, and differentiation. In addition, partners will receive access to district resources (Little Texans Big Future) and tools to support family engagement (Ready Rosie).
Informational sessions are being planned for the spring of 2021 to recruit potential RROCK Ready partners. We have sixty-four childcare providers committed to partner with Round Rock ISD during the 2019-2020 school year.

Can we use the Informational Session PD towards the hours we need for licensing?
The PD provided should provide for the 6 hours needed for the licensing required hours. Certificates will be provided at the end of the last session.
Can we invite you to meet our families during the day as the parent meeting?
Yes, we are available during the day, night or weekend.
I have a fairly large staff, how many of my staff need to attend the PD?
It is up to you to decide based on the needs of your staff.
Who provides the PD and who is it for?
The PD is taught by RRISD instructional coaches and is designed for staff, we are not going in to teach the students.
Do you have the resources to deal with difficult behaviors?
We do have resources that can help. We can also use the consultation time to deal with specific areas.
What is the timeline?
You can choose one of two timelines, start in January-July for a small cohort of people. Or you might choose July-July if it works better. We will have another informational session in March to see if we have more for the following year.
Do we still need to get 8-16 hours in the shorter time period?
We are flexible, we can work that out with you but 8 would make the most sense.
Would any PD be in Spanish?
Yes, we have staff that can provide training in Spanish.
What about other languages?
Talk to us about that, we can see if there is someone available to provide it in a different language.
