What is RROCK Ready?

RRock Ready is a community partnership aimed to ensure school readiness for ALL students. Research proves the first five years are critical to a child’s development. RRock Ready aims to partner with community members and childcare providers who interact with children during these critical learning years to ensure all students enter school ready to learn.

Comprised of stakeholders from across the district, including educators from Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) and Prekindergarten (PK) as well as other integral district personnel and community partners with a vested interest in early childhood, developed this partnership model. Through this partnership, childcare providers (licensed child care facilities and registered in-home daycares) receive free specialized professional development opportunities in many content areas such as early literacy, early numeracy, social-emotional learning, play and language development, and differentiation. In addition, partners receive access to district resources (Little Texans Big Future)  and tools to support family engagement (Ready Rosie).

Informational sessions and professional development workshops are being planned to continue to retain, recruit and expand RRock Ready partnerships. Since this initiative began in 2017, Round Rock ISD has provided over 300 professional development hours to more than 371 childcare providers. Currently, sixty-four childcare facilities are committed to partner with Round Rock ISD which serves well over 2000 future Round Rock ISD students.
